The Can then goes to the Necker-Flanger to neck the Can down from its 2.600” to 2.060" (211 to 202 in can talk).  This is done in fourteen consecutive necking operations at a speed of about 2,400 cpm.  The can then gets flanged at the top. The cans are then palletized and shipped to the Filler so that you and I can enjoy a nice cold beverage anytime of the day or night. The average plant today produces between 6 and 12 million Cans per day for a total of about 204 billion per year in North America and about 420 billion world wide.
